Today the United States lost an important political figure, Edward Moore “Ted” Kennedy. He fought tirelessly for universal health care, calling it, the “cause of his life.”
I chose to post the above video because I think it says something powerful about Ted Kennedy’s resiliency. He himself said that he “defied his illness” (he had just been diagnosed with a deadly brain tumor a month before), when he arrived at the Democratic Convention to give this speech.
I respect Kennedy because he was humble enough to be able to recognize his own personal mission (being a Senator and not a presidential candidate) and fought that battle with an amazing amount of fortitude, even in the face of tragedy.
So today lets take a moment to pray, meditate or whatever it is you do… and hope that both Ted Kennedy and his family are at peace… but let us also hope that the humility and passion for what he believed in, lives on in all of us…
peace.
*admin note* look for the Road to Freedom Photo Exhibit review in tomorrow’s blog… thanks!
