Check These Out

This week has been full of really interesting writing on the web, so I thought I would share some of the funniest/thought provoking/cool stuff I’ve come across over the last couple of days…

1. Amazing article by Naomi Klein about the way Obama has ignored Black Americans, well worth the long read.

2. Policy initiative by the folks over at the Kirwan Institute. They are attempting to craft a policy agenda that would have equitable results across communities. This is the type of thing I believe the black liberal agenda should be focused on.large_TAYLOR-SWIFT-KAYNE-WEST-SPEECH-BEYONCE

3. Mark Anthony Neal’s take on the Kanye West incident (I agree with him).

4. Uptown Note’s take on the Kanye West incident (I don’t agree with him, as you can see in the comments lol).

5. Harry Allen’s Primer on White Supremacy is a must read

6. Video of what Kanye was mimicking at the VMA’s

7. I absolutely love the new itunes

8. Probably one of the FUNNIEST thing’s I’ve ever read. But I couldn’t help but wonder what would have happened had this woman been black (probably wouldn’t have been such a funny outcome!)

9. What actually happens when black women confront the police.

10. Loved this, four reasons women should rule the world

11. How to double your chances for success (sounds like what my mom told me constantly growing up).

12. Top Five Reasons the Baucus Bill is Really Bad

13. Loved this girl in The Great Debaters (link courtesy of Around Harlem)

14. Interesting take on the Serena Williams debacle (not sure if I agree or not, check it out and let me know what you think).

15. Don’t check facebook next time you want to rob a house

16. Free ice cream in Chicago!!!

17. Do you know who you are? (link courtesy of Around Harlem)kaamal-abstract-450x438
